DIY Swatch Book

On Sunday I was looking around Pinterest and came across a picture where nail polish splashes were dropped on a page of a notebook, and it looked so great, that it made me think you could transform those into actual swatches. So I did.

DIY Nail Swatch Book

You Will Need:
 - nail polishes of choice
- a notebook
- a black pen

Basically all there is to it is picking your polishes and smudging away in a somewhat organized manner on the pages of your notebook. Then label them. Actually, you could also use small labels if you have a label maker. Oh that would look so great!
I picked some spring shades and only did one page for now but doesn't it look cute? And it's a bit of an OCD dream come true to be able to organize them so neatly in a notebook.
You can do it by color, by name, by brand, by anything you like.

DIY Nail Swatch Book

I cannot wait to take some proper time and put all my polishes onto the pages of a notebook. And I also can't wait to put together lists, like spring colors, pastels, glitters, metallics... there's so many options!

So what do you think? Are you tempted to do this?

November Favorites

Last month, I gracefully botched it, this month I believe I am reasonably on time. I mean, this is progress.
As you know, my skin is quite low maintenance so you are very likely to not see many  face products in my favorites.
But this month, it has been all about lips.
It's cold, they need love. So I gave them balms. All sorts of balms. And I also discovered a new one that has become an absolute favorite.
If you can turn cracked, fringy lips into normal ones within 24 hours, you're my best bud!

So in November, MUA reached 35k on Facebook and had a week with discount and free shipping. I had heard way too much for way too long about MUA so I decided if I was ever going to give it a try, I should do it now.
I will tell you, when the package arrived, it was the biggest shock. I am a very fussy lipstick picker and these were just amazing!
I've just become a follower of the matte.
Even if I had tried other matte lipsticks before, they never really worked and the color palette I's accept to try was pretty small.
Well no surprise was bigger than the MUA lipsticks. Every color (two of which I just got because they were super cheap and I said I might as well, but didn't expect to use ) looked perfect on me!
Also impressing, the Heaven and Earth palette . You would't think you'd get that for such a small price.

My polish of choice has been the Mi Ny in Forever Young.Flattering for long and short nails alike, you can see some swatches Here.
What I also discovered is the Benecos Natural Baked Blush. I got this one at a beauty bloggers meeting couple weeks ago and the color looked a bit too dark for me, but I was wrong. It's the perfect blush, that stays on you all day.
My issue is, I didn't know the brand, and I still have no clue where to buy more of their things. I shall investigare.

You know how much I like the Eyeko Fat Brush, right? If you don't, I must invite you to read all about it Here, because it is a thing of beauty.

And here we are in the lip section. The Dr Organic Rose Otto Lip Serum is a lovely thing, that smells great, does a great job, has great ingredients and has never harmed any bunnies.A win-win-win-win situation if you ask me.
And now to my favorite: the Apidermaliv balm that has a grand total of four ingredients! Right up my alley! And it has transformed my lips from disaster to greatness in 24 hours. I'm sticking to this guy!

My Top Autumn Nail Polishes & Swatches

I've decided to do a little top 5 of my most worn autumn nail polishes.

Well because 5 would have looked uneven, guess what I did? I made a Top 6.
OCD? Nah, just more polishes to show!

Let us begin, shall we?

I will take each row, left to right.
First up,we have Essie Bobbing For Baubles. Such a unique color!
I did a whole post about it that you can read and especially look at HERE

Next, there's Mi-Ny in Forever Young . I've been looking for a good dark red for quite a while now and I think I can say This is it!
You might remember seeing it in the tutorial for The Super Easy Autumn Nails I did.

Then some Catrice. Left there's In the Bronx , a gorgeous shimmering gold bronze color!
I also used it in the latest tutorial that involved super autumny crunchy nails and that you can find Right HERE.
And on the right, one of my latest, called After Eight.
For some reason I was sure it was blue when I got it. Might have been the light in the store but  can say I regret nothing! Such a beautiful dark green color! Makes me think of mature nature and autumn.

And of course,we had to have a nude. This one from Farmasi is, I think, as nude as it gets. I mean, it almost looks like I have flesh colored nails but I really like it. Sadly, these polishes come with no name and apparently the number of this one got lost somewhere too. Truth is, I've owned this polish for a bit over 2 years now I think, so I'm not even sure it's available anymore, but each autumn, it makes an appearence.

Last but not least: My Self Made Polish.
What a proud polish maker momma I am! It's the kind of color that combines everything I like. The unique color and the gorgeous shimmer to go along. The name is still being created but I think it will be called something with "Midnight". You can see the process of making it HERE and some more swatches in a post I did a bit later, Right HERE

What do you think? Liking my colors? What are yours?

If you're curious, this was the TOP 5 Metallic polishes I did last month being sure they'd be my Top Autumn polishes too.

Polish Days - Sentimental

One month passed and it means Polish Days again!

This month's theme is: Sentimental

That's a huge area I think and I don't really have polish related memories, basically because my memory is that of a snail (not slow, but vastly unreliable) , so I might have had some cool polish on for some events, but for the life of me, I cannot remember which.

That's why I went for the next best thing: Polish that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
As you may know, I'm a girl. I know, everyone was hoping there was a handsome guy behind this blog, using lipgloss and mascara but no. I'm sorry.

Because I am a girl, I like pink. We all do, you even agreed with me when I did my Pink Post you can read Here .
In any case, I like pink and pastels, so I decided to sentimentalize it a bit more and make a boy meets girl kind of thing.

Boy meets girl, boy likes girl, girl likes boy. They connect.

With that being said, I will show you how that works in polish terms, in my mind.

Boy meets girl, boy likes girl, girl likes boy. They connect.

See what I did there? I connected them!

Easiest Autumn Nails

We're all a bit in an autumn nail craze, aren't we?
I know that if I could take autumn and plaster it all over my nails, I'd be a very happy camper, not to mention a very nature coordinated looking one.

So you wonder how o get

mi ny forever young essence special effect topper flakies autumn manicure tutorial

A happy accident made me realize I just need two things:

mi ny forever young essence special effect topper flakies autumn manicure tutorial

A red/dark red/metallic/golden polish and flakies. I used Mi Ny in Forever Young and the Essence Special Effect Topper Flakies.

I had completely forgotten about flakies, and as it so often happens, only  a look in my polish boxes made me remember them again.

The reason I suggested the above colors is because we're going for an autumn look. If you want spring feelings, get your pastel on!

What I like about the Essence topper is that the flakies somehow adapt to the polish, ranging from gold to ivory to red and orange, which makes it quite ideal for a lot of polish colors.

In any case, the one simple step to making your nails feel like foliage is throwing on the flakies!
It should look something like this:

Doesn't it look like the trees outside?
I was quite surprised by how pretty and how quintessentially autumnal the colors looked.

So my tip to you: Use those flakies!

Mi-Ny: Glam F. Blue

We interrupt our program for a special message that is about how I found a whole big nail polish store at the mall yesterday and almost had a happiness stroke!
The brand is MiNy or Mi-Ny (I'm still unsure about the hyphen). They're an italian brand that has everything my little polish addicted heart desires. Obviously I couldn't leave the store empty handed,so I got the first two polishes that I remembered I was missing. Let it be said, they have so so so so many colors!

Today,I present you : Glam F. Blue
I initially grabbed it because I thought it was grey but then I saw the lovely blue shiny particles in it and was hooked.

Here's a better view of how the blue particles shine. They are less visible as such on the nail, but overall, you get a very icy look, with slight blue reflexes and me likey a lot!

As you can see, they are free of Toluene,Formaldehyd,Dbp and Camphor.Plus points!
