Holy Grail? Yes! Dr Bronner's Magic Soap

When I moved into the new flat in London, I noticed a bit too late ( as you do ) that I was missing several household essentials. Now as I was pretty busy, I remembered hearing about this magical 18-in-1 product and since I am always looking for an excuse to run off to Whole Foods, I went ahead and picked up this beauty.

Now the thing with this huge soap bottle is that it is fair trade, completely natural and basically only does you good.
You can imagine I was needing a shower gel first and foremost, but without some sort of moisturiser, my skin usually doesn't operate too well. I was clearly a bit afraid since I was completely out of moisturiser and trying out a new shower gel. But to my complete relief, my skin did not only feel squeaky clean, it also did not feel dry at all.
Apart from being a really good shower gel, I've had the pleasure to test various other uses it has.
Obviously, I had no dishwashing soap nor laundry detergent, but lo and behold, listed among its 18 uses, those two were included!
And let me tell you, they actually wash dishes and clothes really well! I mean, you're probably as shocked reading this as I was washing the dishes.

Another really fantastic thing it does is get your makeup brushes squeaky clean, as well as clean your face when you want some extra cleansing after removing your makeup. Now this particular use, I wouldn't say is best tested every day. If you have a cleanser, use that one, but if you need something to get the job done, this is your guy. It probably works perfect on normal skin types, but my dry self needs a bit more hydration.
I am also proud to report I've washed my hair with it ( I've tested it thoroughly guys!) and was very pleased with the results.I could see myself using it in summer on a more regular basis, but in winter, much like with my skin, I need to add some moisture and extra TLC.

Last but not least, they also say you can brush your teeth with this. Remember when I said I was thorough? Well, I was more curious than anything and I did that too. As far as cleaning, it cleans. In terms of taste...well it's like sucking on soap. Not too unexpected.
I really did try it to satisfy my curiosity, but indeed I did not die intoxicated or anything, and so far, all that it says it does...it really does.

You can pick this up online at feelunique.com, at Whole Foods and I remember seeing it at &Other Stories too, but it was much too overpriced there, so I wouldn't recommend it.
My almost 500ml bottle cost around 9 Pounds, and I think that's a pretty great investment.

Have any of you tried it?

The Inglot All-in-One Perfect Face

I am a big fan of Inglot. Ever since finding the lip shade I had been searching for (more or less) half of my life, I've concluded they are my kind of people. That's why, I overcame my fobia of shopping malls and went to the Westfield Mall on a fine day some weeks ago.  This resulted in finally putting together my little Freedom Palette. If you're not familiar with the freedom system Inglot offers, it's very easy: you can pick out any eyeshadow, concealer or lipstick ( maybe even brow colours, not entirely sure on this one), mix, match and put them in one of these glorious magnetic palettes.

So after realising I probably don't need 5 eyeshadows, I added a concealer and a lipstick.
Let me start by saying that the middle eyeshadow colour, a matte taupe-ey brown, had been searched for for ages. But I was sure I would find it in the Inglot range.

The other eyeshadows are a copper shimmer that looks pretty fantastic on tanned skin, and a brown shimmer that works perfectly for me. I mean, you can go insane with these things and make all sorts of palettes for yourself. They come in 1-2-3-4-5-6 and I'm sure even 7 fillable spaces, if not more.
This whole thing cost me around 28 Pounds if I remember well.
You can put them together on their website or in-store.

Now the lipstick I will show you in a separate "look at how glorious this thing is" post. It is a pink nude that is just right. Looks very natural while complimenting the complexion.
What I have to say is that even I, with my dry skin, find the concealer to be a slight bit too creamy. The coverage is fantastic though, and I may have picked the slightly wrong colour, since my first choice was sold out.

But trust me, if I just have this palette with me, I am absolutely satisfied because it makes me look great in very few moves.

The Trind Way of Having Perfect Nails

I don't think you know how inexplicably glorious it is to have everything functioning properly, from laptop to internet connection.
Which also brings me to the fact that my nails are functioning just as well. And this rarely happens in winter. When I say "rarely" I really mean "never" as cold and frost and rain/snow always make sure to kill the balance.
But in the past weeks, I was sent something by the lovely people of Rouge Boutique , whose webshop will launch this month, to try out.
I did and I have never been so impressed!
Forget OPI's Nail Envy ( Which by the way,did nothing for me) because there's a new and more efficient kid in town: TRIND.

trind nail balm nail repair review

They are a dutch brand that specialise in adding that extra bit of unique to their products, that clearly makes a difference. I got to try out their Nail Balm and the Nail Repair polish/base coat.
The treatment should go on for 2 weeks and involves putting on the Nail Balm, letting it sink in for about 2 minutes, and then rub all the excess on and around the nail. The surprising thing is, that while you'd assume there's no way a balm can comfortably disperse within 2 minutes, you will be surprised to see it does. It sinks in and what is left is non oily and non greasy. So a perfect base for nail colour.
Then you add the Nail Repair on top and let it dry. It can easily act as a base coat too.
Much like with all nail treatments, you are advised to repeat them on a daily basis. I'll be honest and say I skipped them at times but I am still very pleased with the results!

trind nail balm nail repair review

As you can see, my nails are happy and strong with not even a sign of anything pealing, chipping or any other issues. And that, like I said, is a miracle, especially in winter!
Recently I've had issues with getting my nails to grow, exactly because they would chip, but no such issue anymore!

You can easily find more info at Trind.com and of course you can get them online from the Rouge Boutique Webstore this month.
