Polyvore Collage Day: Holiday Wishlist

To be more exact I think it's more like " What I'm going to get next year because I haven't found it yet".
I'm not someone who makes lists and hands them in to receive presents, and this is no different. It's just the things I didn't manage to get or find this year, like for example the proper biker boots or the perfect loose sweater that you can wear with leggings and the before mentioned boots.

This time I'm going to use the option that Polyvore provides in which you can see the exact products on my collage so check it out below!

Polyvore Collage Day: Tokyo

Well this was fun  to make!
The theme was Tokyo and to me, that city and Japan fashion in general tends to not make much sense,as everything goes with everything and then you put some more on top and for some reason, it turns out pretty cool sometimes.
That's why, I combined some everything with some more everythings. I would have gone a bit more crazy, except I couldn't find what I was looking for. 
My first thought was neon baby! But proper neon tings are harder to come by. I should install that Polyvore toolbar and enrich their collections.

I'll show you what I did first

Tights:  the crazier the better! And if it wouldn't be cold and the tights not so warm, I'd go out and get some weird ones right now. But I'll leave it to spring. I think a lot of cute Harajuku girls wear all sorts of tights and these two were the ones that fit in.
For the record, I had no space in this collage anymore, or I would have put double the items in here.
Hello Kitty hat...well you can't have Tokyo without a shoutout to the mother of all kitties, can you? That's why I threw in some glasses too.
Shorts: I'd wear two of them, I probably wouldn't go near the fringy ones, simply because they don't fit my style.
Tops: like I said, neon is hard to come by, so the closest I got was the green and grey/blue shirt. As for the sweaters, I think the bow is the right amount of Tokyo cute and the other one is oversized enough to make some Japanese girls happy.
Shoe-wise I think Converse is a safe bet and for some reason I envision fur when I think Tokyo Street Style.
So I put some fur in there.

If you try to visualize some of these things together, you'd end p surprised by the fact that they could and will actually work!

Polyvore Collage Day : New York

Have to say, I do like this week's theme,but my collage ended up emptier than usual.

You think New York Style and then you wonder...wait...what is NY Style? 
So it became what would I wear when in New York?
Well, I think NYC is a place where there's no point in not being a bit more courageous about your look, so while I wouldn't do much furry stuff in real life, I figured some fluff could wok this time

Looking at this collage I'm starting to think I do indeed need to get me a pair of leather pants.
I'd get them online but I've always had less than jolly experiences with buying clothing online,especially pants, so if any of you have a store to recommend where I can find them, this is the time to do so.

The outfit is pretty simple,but I always liked the black-white-gold combination, and the necklace adds a bit of Umph! to the whole deal.

I'm a huge fan of nude lipsticks, they're basically the only shade I use right now, so with this outfit, I think a smoky or a  cat eye and nude lipstick would look quite nice.

That's what I'd wear in New York on a typical day, it's probably very influenced by the fact that it's autumn, or else I'd definitely be showing you more options. Autumn and winter leave me pretty uninspired, fashion-wise. Don't really know why.

Polyvore Collage Day : Favorite Piece of Clothing

This week we have Favorite Piece of Clothing
And that is a marvelous coinkidink ,because you know what I like a lot? Dresses!

If you'd lock me up in a store and told me to just go ahead and pick things, I will most likely run to the dresses first. Which is remarkable, because everyone who has known me since my teens or earlier will tell you that back then, they would have never imagined I'd ever wear a dress.
Can't tell you what changed, but I've become overly fascinated by dresses.

First up, how gorgeous is that sequin and feathers Marchesa dress?
The rest of them are dressed I'd wear during the day or at the office, like he lacey cream dress, or the black lace one. The stretch black and white contour dress is a pretty powerful piece also, if you ask me.I can see a number of shoes and coats working with it.
The studded black sleeveless dress would work really well with a leather coat and boots, so I might go look for it, now that my brain has created the full outfit.

As for the other three, the Marchesa, purplish black sequin Mango dress and the sleevless sequin and jersey one, they can work really well for a night out or some other event.
Clearly they're the less casual of the bunch.

I'm not one to follow trends religiously, so if I like something from last year, I'm not going to convince myself to ignore it because of its creation date, that's why it's not just trends piled up in this collage.

Polyvore Collage Day: Romantic

This week's theme is Romantic and I kinda like it, since autumn makes me go all pastel again.

So here's what I did.

I think romantic and I envision pastels, lace and florals.
I think it explains why my collage contains precisely that!

Quite a bit of pink,huh?
Well I think that's the romance color extraordinaire, they don't say you're on a pink cloud for nothing.
I also found the polka dot lace collar jumper to be surprisingly cute!
Not sure how it would look on me, unless I add a little romantic hair style to it , but I'm sure it will look super cute on someone else.

Now I have to ask, don't you find the pink skirt awesome? If the reality is anything like this picture, it must be a great piece to wear.
And the bustier...well, it's pastel and it has lace. I'm sure you can make it look romantic without it appearing cheeky.

Polyvore Collage Day: Most Comfortable

Had to skip Collage Day last week sadly, as I was roadtrippin and with less than no internet, BUT we're back!

And this week it's time for Most Comfortable

 

You need to know that my comfort color is grey.

Footwear wise, I don't think my choices are too surprising. My favorite Converse are the "sweatshirt" kind. Don't know if they're still available,but ever since I got them...in grey...I could not find any other Converse pair that was even remotely as comfortable. Those shoes are incredible!
As for the UGGs ,we've all done it. They're not the most beautiful pair of shoes but nothing really compares on the fluffy and warm side,does it?

Basic pair of black pants, some comfy knitwear and a pretty, loose, pastel top make for a very cuddly outfit in my book. Stripes are a thing that can be super casual or super chic, depending on the combination.

And of course: the scarf
I don't know about you, but if I'm warm around my neck, I'm warm all over. Scarves are an pretty sure comfort element for me. Not to mention, I like feeling of being all bundled up in autumn and winter.

Polyvore Collage Day: Lace

Oh goody,goody! I really am a huge fan of lace!

I find it to be an instant outfit maker, wear a lace top with jeans and you have a far from boring look going on. Same goes for a lace dress,skirt or shorts that give your outfit an extra 10 points in the WOW department.

I find it to be the perfect combination of feminine and sexy because in the end it just depends on how you wear it.

I also have to admit the perfect lace color for me is white. You might notice that in a moment also.
I suppose it's because white lace has less cheesy potential than say black lace. That one can go wrong very easy if worn wrong, don't you think? I'm sure we've all seen black lace gone wrong at some point, especially if like me, you were born in the 80s. And I'm sorry Calvin Harris, it might have been acceptable in the 80s but it shouldn't have been. Fo' realz!

Yep, I even found Lace shoes! Gotta love 'em!

Can we talk a bit about the incredible Mermaid's Dream by Deborah Lippmann ? Let's!
This little polish is one thing I really wanna get my hands on,but it has proven to be a difficult task. Also, it's a bit on the pricier side by my gosh, isn't it pretty? Blues and glitters and shimmers and...ah, a beauty!

Just a heads up, you can get me this for my birthday,and my birthday is any day you decide. We don't need to get stuck on dates, don't you think?

As for the rest, pastels and white,of course. I did like the black lace detail on the top on the right, really works on this!

Polyvore Collage Day: The Definition of Chic

Polyvore Collage Day 4 !

This week we had : The Definition of Chic

Now, for today's definition of chic I went pretty basic.
Black, white, red, gold and pastel tones. Simple and timeless.

When it comes to chic, a pencil skirt will always do the trick. Because it's leather, it makes it a bit more edgy and more like something I'd wear. There's some fabrics I really dislike in skirts and in clothing in general and try to stay away from, but this leather looks perfect.
The top is somewhat simple,but it's chic simple, as in something you can wear casually but also in a dressier context.

Ah the blazer.... I think everyone should own one, especially in black. It can be combined with everything!
Black and red nail polishes I think work very well in this context because even if red is the timeless one here, black has also become a pretty universally accepted nail color lately and it makes your hands look chic in one move.

Then of course we have the pumps, bag and the gold necklaces. I think they complete any outfit as long as they don't stray too far into weirdly colored and shaped territories.

Polyvore Collage Day : Black and Gold

I'm really liking this theme. Apart from it being the name of a very cool Sam Sparro song, it's also one of my favorite color combinations:

Black and Gold

 

It was great fun doing this because you can do so much with black and with gold, even separately.
As you can see, there's a fiar share of baroque patterns, on both the dress an bag. It's simply because I find those patterns to be very noble looking, just as I find both black and gold to be noble looking, so the collaboration of the two is quite perfect.

Now let's talk wedges! Is it just me or are they very very awesome? It's definitely a thing I'd wear if they wouldn't imply my height going to 2m while on them. I don't mind the "heel" as it's super comfortable, I'd just be towering over people more than usual but I have a feeling that one day I'll give into temptation and tower away.
The other booties are also gorgeous and a clearly designed for more formal events and in any case, more chic. The wedges are obviously on the rock 'n roll side of life.

Sequins,glitter...how can you say gold and not have one or both? That's why we have the sequin shorts and the gorgeous Deborah Lippmann Boom Boom Pow polish.

I find gold to be ideal for accessorizing and I would have added a studded black sweater if I would have found one, as studs work great on black tops. I went with the stud bracelet and the vintage/vintage looking watch. I always find men's watches to look very sexy on a female wrist, and this one is that AND gold. Win win situation!

This week's theme was Favorite Character from a TV Show 

I watch a bunch of shows, but none of them really have a character that has a certain style, most being generic "next door neighbor" or ""that FBI/CIA lady" but since I used to watch Gossip Girl when I had the chance, I figured Serena would be a good pick.
So here it is, Gossip Girl's Serena van der Woodsen inspired set

She usually wears  these shiny pieces, be it either the top or the bottom, and at least one piece of statement jewelery.
So I paired up a regular looking shirt with some cool bottoms and a very visible gold necklace. For someone who, as far as I've seen, always walks around in heels, these suede booties looked like a good choice.

I'm starting to think I should give a combo like this a try sometimes, actually!

Polyvore Collage Day - Autumn

Exciting stuff, the first Polyvore Collage Day is here!

This week's theme was voted to be autumn so without further ado, here's what my autumn looks like:

As I might have hinted, and will probably continue doing, the color I will be wearing a lot is navy and dark blue tones in general.
I also feel that we all need a cute, fluffy sweater for those days where you just wanna snuggle up in a sea of warm.
A good pair of jeans will save the day most of the times, so investing in something that can become a fast favorite is advised.
The Jeffrey Campbell boots are a bit of an obsession of mine and I haven't been fully convinced to buy a pair yet, but this could be the season.
And the Essie Bobbing for Baubles polish.... navy blue makes an appearance again! 

I couldn't really help myself and I made another collage, with some of the same items, but then a couple of others I wanted to include in the first collage but it would have gotten a bit too crowded if I had

Polyvore Collage Day

Today I'm starting a little thing that just proves how Polyvore is unbeatable when it comes to making collages.

The Polyvore Collage Day will be a day where after voting for a theme, you post your Plyvore Collages on a regular basis.
