The 8th of March Lipstick World Record - Join in!

This might just be one of the coolest initiatives I've ever heard of and been involved in: setting a Guinness World Record in simultaneously putting on lipstick.
You heard me!
The idea is to get more than 1002 women together (because that is the number of the previous record) and get them to put on a lovely red lipstick in celebration of Woman's Day at the same time.

Now you're especially lucky if you're in Cluj because then you can actually be part of this!
It will be happening in Iulius Mall, with lipsticks provided by Avon, on March 8th at 6pm.

So then, see you there with a red lip? I mean, who can say they hold a Guinness World Record? You could be one of the very few!

Avon Cherry Blossom Hair Mask, Refreshing Hair Spray and Body Spray

Hello, my name is Joanna and I will purchase anything that smells like cherry blossoms. So here's what I got the last time I got an Avon catalogue and saw they had cherry blossom smell available.

With that being said, I sometimes go miss with my impulse cherry buys. And to be honest, when it comes to Avon I'm not one to expect miracles from their products. But I can say that I was pleasantly impressed this time.
Ok, the smell wasn't really cherry blossom and I had no idea what a "hair refreshing spray" is, but I went for it anyway.

I would like to take a moment to say that this is the absolute cutest packaging I have ever seen a conditioner come in! I'd buy every other one just because of this bottle, I absolutely adore it!
The hair mask itself is actually quite good.
I've used it once but it does leave your hair with a nice smooth feeling. It says it's a Daily Refreshing Hair Mask but I'm not someone who washes their hair daily, mainly because I don't need to,as it takes a lot to get my hair greasy.
As far as hair masks go, I wouldn't tell someone not to buy it. It smells lovely and it leaves your hair feeling really nice.

This spray is also for daily use, it says. Again, I didn't really know what it was, but I got it because of its smell. Eventually I discovered its function.
It's basically a dry shampoo in liquid form. When you're one day away from washing your hair and don't get to do it, or just want to stretch it out for one more day, whatever the reason, you spray this fellow on your hair and it will revive it.
It actually does a pretty great job. As it contains alcohol, it makes most fatty residue disappear, leaving your hair much fresher looking.

One thing I really like from Avon are their body sprays. Those things last FOREVER.I still have a violet one that is probably one year old, I've used it like a maniac in spring and summer and it's still only halfway empty.
Same with this. I spray and spray some more and it seems like nothing has ever left the bottle.
I really like the gentile smell of it. It's a girly, yet fresh smell. Again, not spot on with 'cherry blossom' but I like the smell nevertheless

So that was a bit from the diary of the cherry blossom addict, but as soon as I have more products with this lovely scent to show, I will!
What's your favorite scent?

Picking Eyeliners

When it comes to Beauty Essentials, it's mascara and eyeliners that I couldn't do without.
I've always liked that simple yet chic line across the eyelid but it took me a lot of testing before I found the perfect thing to do it with.

So here's why, I thought I could tell you a bit about each kind of eyeliner, so you might find it easier to find the one that is perfect for you.

I'm gonna post them in the order that I've used them. Like most of us, I too started out with a pencil

Pencil Eyeliners:

For a beginner, they're easy to use. You know how to handle a pencil and you can make a line somewhat easy.
What you can't do is create a cat eye look. No matter how sharp the tip, it's still too thick to make a fine line happen.
Another issue is that it smudges easiest. It's very practical for blending, but sooner or later you will end up with unwanted black stains around your eye. Because of is creaminess, it will also not stay on for too long, especially compared to other types of eyeliners.
Of course, they are an important part in creating the smoky eye look or if you want to line your waterline.

Liquid Eyeliners:

The next step from the pencil. When I discovered them,I as over the moon because I could finally do a fine line.
Obviously they aren't as easy to handle as a pencil and it takes some getting used to until you stop making a trembled line across the eyelid. What you can do with them is a thick cat eye look because their tip allows you to apply a larger quantity of color and you can fill in shapes very well. I also find these to have the most real waterproof formula. They truly don't move when they are waterproof.

Felt Tip Eyeliners:

These are the ones like the Lancome you can see on top of the picture. Because they come in pencil form, they are much easier to handle than the liquid eyeliners that come in a pot.
You have to test out the formula though because I've experienced some very sheer ones that looked more grey than black when applied. So look for one that is truly black.
They are a good pick if you want to make subtle lines and for cat eye looks.

Gel Eyeliners:

I'll go ahead and say that these are my favorite kind. They give you a very intense black color and are very precise in applying as you can use the brush of your choice to dip and create the look you want.
Another great thing about them is that they stay in place and last until you take them off. You will also, almost never have a gel eyeliner smudge.

Hope this helped you a bit in finding the right liner or just getting to know more about the other kinds of eyeliners out there.

What kind do you use?
